Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us, and in counseling it matters even more. This policy explains what we collect through our website, forms and text messages, and how we protect it.
Effective October 4, 2026
- We never sell your information. Not to advertisers, data brokers or anyone else.
- Your mobile number stays with us. It is never shared with anyone for marketing.
- Client records are protected by HIPAA. Federal and Texas law govern how they are used.
- You stay in control. Ask us to correct or delete website data, or reply STOP to end texts.
Who we are
Acceptance Path Counseling is the trade name of Liberated Minds TX Counseling PLLC, a counseling practice with offices in Houston, Katy and The Woodlands, Texas. In this policy, "we," "us" and "our" mean the practice.
This policy covers acceptancepath.com (the "Site"), the forms on it and the text messages we send.
This policy and HIPAA
Once you become a client, your health information is protected health information under HIPAA and Texas law. How we use and share it is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive when you begin care.
For client records, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs wherever it differs from this policy. You can ask for a copy at any time at info@acceptancepath.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you contact us, ask to be matched with a counselor or book a consultation, we collect what you enter. That usually means your name, email address, phone number and a short message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our systems and tools record technical details. These include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site that referred you.
Text message information
If you agree to receive texts, we keep your mobile number, a record of your consent and your opt-out status. We also keep the messages exchanged, as part of your record with us.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and help you find a counselor who fits.
- To schedule appointments and send the reminders and updates you asked for.
- To provide, bill for and coordinate your care once you are a client.
- To keep the Site secure and protect our forms from spam.
- To understand how the Site is used, so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal, licensing and professional obligations.
Text messages
Text messages are optional, and agreeing to them is never a condition of receiving services. Our SMS Terms explain how the program works, how often we text and how to opt out.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
When we share it
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only in the situations below.
- Service providers, such as our hosting, email, scheduling, records, billing and messaging companies, may use it only to provide their services to us. Those that handle health information sign business associate agreements.
- With your permission. For example, when you sign a release so we can speak with another provider.
- When the law requires it. For example, a valid court order, or a duty to protect someone from serious and imminent harm.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the Site and how well our advertising works. We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam, and Google Maps to show our office locations.
These tools may set cookies and collect device and usage information under Google's Privacy Policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers an opt-out add-on for Google Analytics.
We also advertise with Google Ads. To measure and improve our ads, we may share limited information with Google in encrypted form.
If you call us from one of our Google ads, we keep the number you called from and the time of the call. We may share that number with Google in encrypted form to see which ads help people reach us, but never your name or the reason you called.
How we protect it
The Site uses encryption (HTTPS) for everything you send us. Access to personal and health information is limited to the people who need it to serve you.
No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please keep clinical details out of email, standard texts and our contact form.
How long we keep it
We keep website inquiries for as long as we need them to respond and to keep accurate records. Client records are kept for the periods Texas law and our licensing boards require.
Your choices and rights
- Ask us to correct or delete information you sent through the Site, by emailing info@acceptancepath.com. Some records may need to be kept for legal reasons.
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts.
- Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email to stop those emails.
- As a client, you have HIPAA rights to see and get a copy of your records, ask for corrections and receive a list of certain disclosures. Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains each right and how to use it.
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, please tell us first so we can make it right. You may also file a complaint with the federal Department of Health and Human Services, and we will never retaliate against you for doing so.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we will contact you before it takes effect.
