What couples bring to Sawdust Road

It can show up a few years in, or a few decades in.

  • Talking, but not landing

You explain yourself carefully and it still comes out wrong. Both of you feel misread.

  • Life got loud

Work, kids, aging parents and the commute take the best hours. What is left for each other is tired and short.

  • Trust with a dent in it

Something happened, big or small, and now everything gets checked twice. Neither of you wants to live like that.

Questions about couples counseling in The Woodlands

Do you offer marriage counseling in The Woodlands?

Yes. At our Sawdust Road office, Ricardo Alvarez, Kellie Lomas and Denise Laird see couples, married or not.

How do we book as a couple?

Fill in the short form and choose “Me and my partner”. We suggest a counselor here who sees couples and tell you the estimated cost before anything is booked.

Each of you gets your own intake paperwork, sent to your own phone or email.

Can we have couples sessions by video?

Yes, by secure video, as long as you are both in Texas for the session. Say so on the form and we will set it up.

How soon can we start?

Couples are seen within the week. You get the time and the estimated cost before anything is booked.

Is this the closest office if we live in Spring?

From Old Town Spring, usually: our office is about 7 miles up I-45. From the Champion Forest side, our Houston-Willowbrook office on Haynes Road is closer, and Cathryn Birden and Christopher Walker see couples there.

See counseling for Spring, TX for drive times.

What if one of us does not feel safe at home?

Then couples counseling is not the place to start. Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788, any time.

Individual counseling here is still open to you, on your own.

What if the counselor is not the right fit?

If the fit is wrong, tell us and we will match you with a different counselor. Your first session with them is free.

The Reset is about fit only, not a promise about results.

Tell us who is coming, and we will do the matching

Acceptance Path Counseling provides weekly counseling from licensed Texas counselors, in person at our office in The Woodlands and by secure video across Texas. We are not a psychiatry practice and do not prescribe medication.
