Feeling stuck? Like you’re running in circles trying to just feel better, but nothing truly changes? You’re in the right place.
Look, we get it.
Life throws curveballs. Anxiety. Stress. Feeling lost or overwhelmed. Relationship struggles. The whole messy, complicated human experience.
You’ve probably tried stuff. Maybe pushed difficult thoughts away?
Tried to ‘think positive’ until your jaw ached?
Perhaps even therapy before, focusing only on getting rid of the ‘bad’ feelings.
And yet… here you are. Still searching.
Still feeling like something’s missing.
Maybe the battle isn’t the answer.

Let’s be real.
Trying to constantly eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings? It’s exhausting.
Like trying to hold a beach ball underwater. Sooner or later, it pops back up, often with more force.
You get told:
This endless struggle against your own inner experience? This focus only on symptom reduction?
It keeps you trapped. It narrows your world. It stops you from actually living.
Feeling better is great. We all want it. But focusing only on feeling better often means missing out on living better.
This is where we come in. And yeah, we do things differently.
At Acceptance Path Counseling, we’re not just about feeling better (though that often happens). We’re about LIVING better.
What does that mean?
It means building a rich, full, and meaningful life. It means learning how to handle the inevitable pain and struggle life brings with more flexibility and grace. It means identifying what truly matters to you deep down – your values – and taking steps towards that.
Even when difficult thoughts and feelings show up. (Because they will. That’s part of being human.)
We don’t focus on eliminating your internal experience. We focus on changing your relationship with it.
You might hear terms like “evidence-based therapy.” We use that. Things like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – proven approaches backed by science.
But we go deeper. We embrace a Process-Based Approach.
What the heck is that?
It means we focus on the how.
It’s not just theory. It’s about understanding the core processes of human change and helping you build psychological flexibility – the ability to stay present, open up, and do what matters.
This isn’t about endless naval-gazing. It’s about creating momentum towards a life you actually want to live.

Everything! Unlike platforms such as Betterhelp or Sobermind that employ a broad range of practitioners, we maintain a highly selective approach to our team composition. We carefully choose each counselor based on their alignment with our mission to revolutionize the industry through process-based methodologies. Every professional who joins our team—whether contracted or employed—shares our therapeutic modalities and philosophical approach, ensuring consistent, quality care that truly makes a difference.
Each clinician possesses unique modalities stemming from their personal experiences and skills. Nevertheless, the underlying philosophy of these modalities remains consistent—we look beyond the DSM-5 and its flawed diagnoses, concentrating on helping you create a life worth living.
AJ Huynh, a licensed counselor in Texas with a background in construction management, experienced a profound professional awakening upon reading "A Liberated Mind" by Steven C. Hayes. He was immediately captivated by the concepts of pragmatism and functional contextualism, frameworks supported by the robust research of Relational Frame Theory. These evidence-based approaches fundamentally transformed AJ's perspective on therapeutic practice. Recognizing that the mental health industry often focuses excessively on treating symptoms rather than addressing underlying causes, AJ took decisive action to establish a practice centered on process-based therapy—creating an innovative approach that targets the functional roots of psychological suffering while equipping clients with practical skills for meaningful, sustainable change.
